A few weeks ago, I posted about my best friend's upcoming book, Cartwheels in a Sari: A Memoir of Growing Up Cult, which comes out on April 14th. I just found out this weekend that my friend, Jayanti Tamm, will be on NPR's Talk of the Nation, a live call-in show, tomorrow afternoon. Yay! I'm thrilled for her, and will be tuning in. Check your local NPR station for times.
Also, she has a guest column in the Washington Post in the "On Faith" section. I've been enjoying the crazy comments left by cult members, most of whom seem to have a personal vendetta against my friend. It always amuses me that the more fanatical people are about their religious beliefs, the more insecure they seem to be about "defending" and "protecting" them. If one is happy and secure in their beliefs, they don't need to attack others. Sheesh! And it's odd when people whose beliefs are of peace and love seem to be the first to put down others.
Anyway, tune in tomorrow if you have time. It should be an interesting conversation.
