Late Summer Passions

I'm participating in a photo contest over at Giveaway Blogs forum, which is managed by UPrinting.com, and the topic is passion. Now before you go thinking this is some sexy, X-rated post, it's not. It's just a few photos of Soren passionately enjoying the last hurrah of summer. First up, bubbles!
We like to walk on a local trail that runs along a creek, and the other day S wanted to bring the bubbles to blow there. It was contagious fun.

We then came across a paper birch tree, similar to one that grew in my childhood home. I loved to play under it and pull of the paper bark and peel it apart. There was something oddly soothing about that.
It's just so beautiful in color and texture.
We collected some for a future craft of some sort.
So that's us, lazily exploring the last passions of summer.
Disclosure: This post is an entry in a photo contest sponsored by UPrinting.com.

  3. I used to love to peel the bark also, and there is definitely a craft there.

  4. Those are great ways to enjoy the end of summer! :)

We've been collecting acorns. I'm hoping to use them for a craft of some kind as well! :)

  5. aw, I like this post. It is simple and sweet! I also love paper birch. I see them every once in a while, but I have never been lucky enough to have one in my yard. I would be taking pieces to make crafts with too! I love that! Don't forget to share your craft if you do anything with it! I read the previous comment above, and my boys collected lots of acorns for me this past weekend while camping with their Dad. Mom (me) stayed home and enjoyed the solitude! Anyhow, I am going to use these acorns in the middle of my dining room table some way, some how, just not sure what yet!
