Star Costumes {Giveaway}

After just reading a note on my Facebook news feed about someone planning their Halloween costume, I'm convinced it's not too early to start focusing on one of my favorite holidays. My guess is big box stores and malls are already in high gear for all things Halloween too.

Last year, I sewed a costume for my son, and though it was so worth it, I was really not looking forward to creating another one for him this year. However when Star Costumes contacted me about reviewing a costume, I was quite pleased--no sewing!
Not only do they have a great selection of costumes and sizes, but they also had one that fit the theme I was looking for--story book characters. Since my son was Max from Where the Wild Things Are last year, I thought I'd continue on with the literary theme--I mean, who knows how far I can take it when an opinionated pre-schooler emerges next Halloween.

I chose the kids' Cat in the Hat costume, which retails for $29.50.
Though it's a little big on my son (the small size I ordered is a size 4, not a 3 like he wears), it's easily adaptable due to the elastic around the wrists and ankles and a tie in the back. I like that it's a little large on him, since it accommodates clothing that one would wear under it, especially in our area of the country where it gets chilly around Halloween. The costume is made out of felt, and the bow tie is held in place with velcro (need to do a quick iron of that before wearing), which makes it easy to spot clean.
I like that this costume is breathable and comfortable for my 2 year old. I think it will hold up nicely to the activities of Halloween week in our town.

SoJo especially loves the hat, and wanted to wear it all day long.
