During the month of October, General Mills has released newly designed Monster cereal boxes, just in time for Halloween. I actually saw an huge display of them at the Target checkout this week, with Count Chocula, Boo Berry, and Franken Berry strawberry cereals.
We've been enjoying the cereals as a mid-morning snack. Soren is quite fond of the marshmallows inside the cereals, and will mostly pick them out and devour them before eating the rest with milk. The cereals actually have a lot of vitamins and minerals added to them, which helps with picky eaters.
If you check out the website Grocery Savvy, you can download Monster Cereal wallpapers
as well as find some great recipes using the cereals. The Count Chocula Marshmallow bars sound great.
WIN IT!
General Mills and My Blog Spark are offering one lucky reader a
Monsters Cereal Prize Package!
which includes all three cereals, a $10 Target Gift card, and a Monsters Cereal trick-or-treat tote bag

I remember having Count Chocula at friends' sleepovers. I was never allowed to eat sugary cereal at night at home but my friends' moms were "cooler". It was fun to get hopped up on sugar late at night.

My mom always bought us sugary cereals...no problem...we had it all..count chocula, boo berry and franken berry...and all the other famous sugary cereals as well. Dang we had it good. I think I loved Count Chocula and Boo Berry the best. I remember there used to be a cut out 45 record on the back of the cereal box. That was a way long time ago..I don't know if you remember those or not? We'd cut them out, it would have Boo Berry's face on it, put it on our record player and the thing actually worked. I don't remember the song, but it may have been something like "monster mash"..who knows!
ReplyDeleteI always had to have Boo Berry every year around Halloween!

My mom use to always buy us Count Chocula and we would eat it up as fast as we could. Mom would buy another box and we would eat it just as fast. It was the never ending cycle. The only thing was that I was TERRIFIED of Count Chocula. I would actually have nightmares.

I was totally obsessed with blueberry-flavored stuff when I was a kid. I wanted the berry blue Kool-Aid, blueberry gum, blue popsicles--everything. My parents rarely relented, as they didn't enjoy that flavor and there was nobody else in the house to eat it! But I remember they would buy me some Boo Berry VERY occasionally, and it was so so so awesome. I don't think I ever finished a whole box before it went stale, but I loved it when I got it!
