Diaper Cakewalk

This being my second pregnancy, I decided long ago to forgo the baby shower.  I really have everything I need, save for buying a few more diapers, both cloth and disposable, and some summertime onesies for the baby.  However, it's slightly sad, not having a get-together (with cake and ice cream!) with my close friends and family.  Of course, I wouldn't complain if someone out there wanted to just throw a party in my honor, no gifts required.

However, it was a treat a few days ago to receive a sweet diaper cake in the mail from Diaper Cakewalk.
At my first baby shower, it was such a lovely and practical gift, one that my cousin's wife had made for me.  I never would have guessed that a shop like Diaper Cakewalk even shows you how to make a diaper cake the easy way.
The diaper cake I received is one from Diaper Cakewalk's eco-friendly line, specifically the Green Puppy Diaper Cake.
The cake is gorgeous, and is filled with 40-45 eco-friendly Seventh Generation diapers as well as products from one of my favorite companies, Burt's Bees.  The diaper cake also comes with an organic cotton puppy rattle.  I like that it's eco-friendly, especially since we try to go green as much as we can around here.

Diaper Cakewalk's diaper cakes are a great start for any parent expecting either girl or boy, and would make a wonderful baby shower gift that you don't have to worry about putting together yourself.
I think their diaper cakes would also make lovely centerpieces for a shower, or even practical new baby gifts for presenting to the new parents at the hospital after the birth.  I was certainly tickled to have received such a lovely, well-made diaper cake, and it made me feel like I was having a little baby shower of my own.
Disclosure: I received an eco-friendly diaper cake from Diaper Cakewalk for review purposes.

  1. I love the Burt's Bees apricot scented baby oil. It looks like some came on your cake?

We got a diaper cake as a gift when Kidoodle was a newborn, and even though we primarily used cloth diapers, it was wonderful to have a stash of easy disposables during that busy time. :)

  4. Diaper cakes are so fun, I always was tempted to make one but they kinda seemed like a lot of repetitious work. We just had a Baby Celebration at my husband's work and I was really excited to see the big diaper cake when we walked in. It's the first time I've ever gotten one and it really is super fun, I'm posting a picture of it tomorrow. These look like a great alternative when you want to give something so useful but don't have the time to do it yourself. Looks like they put on a lot of great goodies!
