New Bistro Boxes from Starbucks

Prior to being parents to newborn again, Chris and I liked to hang out at Starbucks.  No, we're not like that couple from Best in Show, flipping through J Crew catalogs, but we do enjoy Starbucks' strong coffee and yummy treats.  So of course when I heard through Mom Central Consulting that Starbucks has introduced a new line of Bistro Boxes, for when you're hungry for something other than cookies and scones, I was eager to try them.

I like that Starbucks has branched out into products other than coffee, and the new Bistro Boxes are worth a trip into the store in their own right.

Surprisingly, Starbucks Bistro Boxes include 3 vegetarian options (I really hope they add more), like the Sesame Noodles box, which was enjoyed by the Mister.
It includes sesame noodles, veggies and tofu with a spicy lime glaze; it's a healthier option that what is typically available in a fast food restaurant.

Both calories and cost are great with the Bistro Boxes--under 500 and under $7 respectively.  I had the Protein Bistro Box, which seemed more like a snack to this nursing mama than a meal.
It contains eggs, fruit, cheese, and bread.  But it was still tasty, especially the honey peanut butter and multigrain muesli bread.  I like the idea of having this for breakfast, as it would add some variety to my standard fare.

The Bistro Boxes seem pretty popular already, as there weren't many left in our nearby location, even around lunch time.  I'd recommend eating early, which is not usually a problem for me.
Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Starbucks Bistro Boxes and received a gift card to facilitate my review and thank me for taking the time to participate.

  1. The sesame noodles look good. Not sure if I'd like them with coffee, though.

Picturing you guys as characters in any Christopher Guest film is pretty hilarious… maybe he'll do a mom blogger movie…

  4. Oh I am liking the look of the hard boiled eggs, cheese and fruit meal. Yes. I can see where that would be a snack. I love Starbucks. I love how strong their coffee is and I love their sweet treats as well.
