Why not try a Chex Party Mix-Change instead of or in addition to a cookie exchange?
Though I'm usually creative in the kitchen, I completely neglected to realize that Chex Mix can be so versatile. I'm used to the traditional, savory blend of Chex, pretzels and nuts, though I recently made some Pumpkin Spice Chex Mix which was sweet and delicious with Chex and roasted pecans.
And it couldn't have been easier to make, even with a preschooler, who was quite patient for the final result.
You can find a lot of recipes on the back of Chex boxes, including the PB and Chocolate Blast--yum!
Pumpkin Spice Chex Mix is big on taste but little on ingredients (read: easy!). Here's what I used:
You can find the ingredients and recipe HERE. The smell of it baking in the oven is intoxicating!
Plus you can even make Chex Mix recipes in the microwave in 15 minutes or less!
Packaged in cute little red take-out containers, Chex Party Mix would make great gifts for teachers, neighbors, or really anyone you'd like to give a little sweetness to.
The Chex Party Mix-Change website is a great resource for recipes, printable labels and other packaging ideas too.
