Friday Featured Blog: Jiggety Jigg

Whenever I see the words "Jiggety Jigg" it makes my brain do a little dance. According to Jenni's subtitle, "If you want minutia and nonsense, you've come to the right spot." When I visit, I don't find too much nonsense, just honest, funny posts about things like "celebrating" a nasty, anonymous comment. And she was most recently listed on MomDot's Top 50 Bloggers list. Along with me, Jenni participates in Wordful Wednesday, over at 7 Clown Circus, which is where I found her blog. No photos here to talk about, but Jenni's sharing a little more about herself and her blog. Enjoy!

What is your blog about?

Jiggety Jigg is pretty much a collection of randomness about my family and I.

Where does your blog title come from?

It's actually part of a nursery rhyme we used to say when I was a little girl! "To market, to market, to buy a fat pig! Home again, home again, Jiggety Jigg"!

When and why did you start your blog?

I started my blog over the summer. I am not even really sure why I did it...but I am so glad that I did!

What would you like to add to your blog in the next year?

I am not sure. I would like to just continue to enjoy writing it and see where it leads!

What are some of your favorite blogs?

Dooce, Sweetney, and Finslippy are my classic favorites! But I have a ton of new favorites...too many to even list!

What is one of your pet peeves about blogs or bloggers?

I don't really have any blog peeves, honestly. Everyone's blog is their own personal space. If you don't like something, you don't have to read, right?

And as far as bloggers go, I have to say I haven't had a single bad experience with anyone. People have been VERY supportive and helpful!

What advice would you have for any new bloggers?

Read A LOT of blogs. And not just to get return comments! Really READ them and get ideas and inspiration. Join some weekly memes and social communities. Make your blog a reflection of you and try to update it often!

What is something that people might not know about you?

Wow. People know A LOT about me! Oh! How about this...before I got a teaching postition, I was a customer service representative for a wig catalog company. I spent my evenings on the phone with old ladies who wanted to know what color I thought would look good on them...
