EcoSMART Organic Home Pest Control {Giveaway}

I'm a hypocrite. Particularly when it comes to my spiritual beliefs. In this case, I'm referring to my belief that all beings are precious and deserving of life, and therefore should not be killed. That applies to everything but ants.
I hate them. These pests have invaded our house in April and have not gone away. You leave one dirty dish in the sink, and they throw a party. The coup de grace occurred when I found them covering S's toothbrush. Ick! They love kids' toothpaste (does it have sugar in it?--that's another more investigative post) and once they found that lurking in our upstairs bathroom, they really got under my skin. Not to mention the kids' Tylenol in the medicine cabinet, which they also claimed, despite a child-proof cap.

I'm extremely reluctant to use any sort of insecticide/pesticide in our home, especially since I spend so much time using green cleaning products and keeping chemicals out of the house. So I put up with the ants, squashing them one by one rather than dousing them with skull-and-crossbones products.

There is a product that I've tried from EcoSMART--their Organic Home Pest Control spray.
It's made from organic plant oils like clove, rosemary, peppermint and thyme. The main ingredient is Phenethyl Propionate, which is a natural anti-fungal agent made from phenethyl alcohol and propionic acid.

I should say that they've been waning anyway, now that it's getting colder outside, but I'm anxious to try this again in the spring to see how well it works when the ants are in full force.

I do like that this is safe to use around my son and our cat. Not that I'm going to be spraying it everywhere, since even natural pesticides are not great for kids and pets to be injesting, but I do hope that it takes care of our ant problem once and for all. I like the smell too, which is quite herb-y.
