Last Thursday I headed to Philadelphia with my friend Shana to attend a mom's night out party at Morimoto for an Aquafina FlavorSplash "Celebrate Moms" event. If you're local to the area, you might know that Morimoto's is quite a swanky place with Asian fusion yummies on the menu.
I felt like I was in the cantina on Tattooine, right out of Star Wars. Everything had a pod-like feel to it. This was the view of the main dining area from the upstairs loft, where the event was.
The food was great, especially the sushi and spicy tofu bites. There were quite a few bloggers there, and if you know me at all, you'll understand that I wasn't very social (I'm shy, and it takes me a while to warm up to new people).The party was sponsored by Aquafina and was coordinated my Mom Central, so we got to try out some of the new Aquafina Flavorsplash varieties. I love how they presented the samples!
The FlavorSplash varieties were served in these along with chunks of fruit. Yum!
The FlavorSplash drinks have zero calories and come in 6 flavors (grape, lemon, wild berry, strawberry kiwi, peach mango and raspberry). I liked the lemon best, though I doubt I'll be buying much of them because the zero-calorie thing means artificial sweeteners (in this case Sucarlose/Splenda) and I really don't like ingesting that. But they did taste good and I'm sure there's a flavor that everyone will like.

All in all, it was a fun night in the city. Shana and I enjoyed ourselves and were happy to get dressed up and have a night away from parenting responsibilities. Is that Morimoto as in the Iron Chef? Neat. I haven't been out for (vegetarian) sushi since before my daughter was born.. I miss it.

Sushi...yum. One of things I miss while nursing. Never had Tofu, though and I too get terribly shy in social situations even though I can be Chatty Cathy in blogland! Ironic!
