What is your blog about?
I have a mommy blog that primarily covers my experience raising my two wonderful boys, Ethan and James. Also, I am passionate about taking care of the environment, so I write at least one post a week about how to live a more “green” life. And, I’ve written about some of the great places our family visits in Colorado, like Georgetown and Glenwood Springs.
Where does your blog title come from?
The title is based my desire to help the environment by hanging my clothes out to dry as much as possible. As I live in Colorado, which is sunny almost year round, it’s a pretty easy commitment to make. My son, Ethan, whom loves to draw, painted the picture for me.
When and why did you start your blog?
I started blogging this past March. I’m in a moms’ group, and a few of the moms in would talk about their blogs. Up until then I hadn’t paid much attention to blogging. I used to work as an editor at a trade magazine, and was itching to write again. I love blogging, not only because it’s given me an opportunity to write again, but for all the wonderful people I’ve met through it
What would you like to add to your blog in the next year?
I’d like to write more about autism, and our family’s experience with the disorder.
What are some of your favorite blogs?
I really like the mama bird diaries (http://www.mamabirddiaries.
What is one of your pet peeves about blogs or bloggers?
I don’t have any pet peeves about bloggers—so far I haven’t encountered any nasty comments.
What advice would you have for any new bloggers?
One of the easiest ways to promote your blog is to get on some blog rolls, like All Mediocre. Also there are blog rolls for every interest—like green living, frugal living etc. It’s also good to participate in carnivals. I participate in Haiku Friday, and Thrifty Green Thursday. I’ve found a lot of great blogs via those carnivals.
What is something that people might not know about you?
Before we started our family, my husband and I went with some friends to Thailand. It was one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. I hope to get back there someday.
