Friday Featured Blog: Mrs. Cox's Slice O' Heaven

I met Erin of Mrs. Cox's Slice O' Heaven way back in November during the Tea Party that some of my blog friends and I hosted, and she was my favorite guest! I could count on Erin always leaving thoughtful comments and participating in all of our kooky activities. I got to know her over the last few months and I look forward to visiting her every day to see how her darling little girl Charlie is doing, or what Erin is up to for the day. She makes even the most mundane tasks like housework sound fun. Erin not only writes Mrs. Cox's Slice O' Heaven, but she is the master chef blogger at Snafood (clever clever name) and the fashion diva behind Frugal Fashion and Savvy Shopping, for real women on a budget. I don't know how she keeps up with it all AND leaving all of those nice comments. Presenting the lovely Mrs. Cox!

What is your blog about?
My description is "Random thoughts, pictures of things I love, and anything I feel like writing about...Albeit probably boring to some, but who asked you?" I think that pretty much sums it up, with some sassy sarcasm to boot!

Where does your blog title come from?
Since I had my daughter, I felt that anything I wrote about was indeed about my own slice of heaven...She's my angel and I can't imagine my life without her in it.

When and why did you start your blog?
Gosh, I started blogging December of 2006. Mainly as a way to give my oldest sister {who lives in Indiana} a way to keep up to date on the little things going on in my life. Looking back, there's a 6 month absence from January to July because I was recovering from an illness. Now, I try to post as often as I can, but my daughter and my marriage are priorities ;)

What would you like to add to your blog in the next year?
Ahhh, you mean this brand spankin' New Year?? Funny you should ask...I've actually been wanting to try my hand at hosting a few giveaways for shiggles. I'm hoping to have my first lined up just in time for Valentine's Day! I'm very excited and can't wait to see how it all plays out.

What are some of your favorite blogs?
Lordy loo...I have 40 in my Google Reader. Yes, I fully admit that I'm a bit of a blog trollaholic. But you know, you get to reading one good blog, and follow a link or another commenter and you end up at another really cool blog! It's a vicious cycle I tell ya.

What is one of your pet peeves about blogs or bloggers?
I really only have one...I don't mind playlists being on the page, just turn off the auto start option. It drives me batty. Most times I won't even continue reading because of it. Sorry!

What advice would you have for any new bloggers?
Ha, I don't know if I'm in a position to give advice to bloggers! I'm sure that my writing style or blog layout would have some probloggers and "experts" pulling their hair out and shunning me. Pfft, I say write about whatever the heck you want to write about and just enjoy it.

What is something that people might not know about you?
Not that I'm really the mysterious type or anything...though there are probably a few things that aren't known. The biggest will be the fact that I don't drive. Eep! I lived in Seattle where public transportation was fantastic and anywhere I lived after that I was fortunate enough to live within walking distance to work. I've driven before, and I'm going to "practice" and get my license at some point. Try not to laugh ;)

Thanks Erin! Enjoy your day of K&K celebrity. And go leave her lots of comments!

I added Erin to my daily reads during the Tea Party, too. She has such a great outlook and her little family is so adorable... it brightens my day to check in with her!

Erin's blog is one that always leaves me smiling. It can be a warm smile, a hardy har har smile or even a "reminiscent" smile (I do remember when mine was that young!), but she always make me smile.

I LOVE her new blog makeover!

Thanks again Kathleen it was so fun being interviewed! I probably sound like a broken record, but I'm so glad I met you and the other tea party hostesses months ago. I've made some wonderful bloggy friends since then and I'm quite grateful.
