Friday Featured Blog: Flying Giggles and Lollipops

This week's featured blog is one that I've newly come across and that I obviously enjoy reading. Flying Giggles and Lollipops is written by Michelle, mom of two cute little girls with sweet little names--Chloe and Aiyana. I think her blog name perfectly captures the essence of childhood. Michelle has been blogging since April, but has already racked up a lot of posts about her family and quite a few giveaways and reviews too. I love featuring new bloggers in my Friday Features, and am happy to have Michelle tell us a little more about herself. Welcome Michelle!

What is your blog about?
My blog centers around my family. My girls are my life and sometimes my single friends get tired of all my stories, so now I just blog about them. I have a little bit of randomness and also join in on lot of fun weekly memes, I find it is a great way to meet other parents all over the world.I love doing reviews and hosting giveaways, it is so much fun telling someone they won. Basically, my blog is my own personal space to kick back, relax and have a little Mommy time. So, come on over, relax with me and I hope you enjoy it!

Where does your blog title come from?
When I was creating my blog, I was trying to think of a catchy title that represents our family. I was spitting out different titles when my daughter decided to join in. She popped out with “Flying Giggles and Lollipops”. I instantly knew that was the perfect title for my blog. Our house is always filled with giggles flying all over the place. My daughter’s favorite treats are lollipops, therefore, “Flying Giggles and Lollipops” it is!

When and why did you start your blog?
I am a newbie. I just started blogging this past April, I instantly found a favorite new past time. I was already following some really fantastic blogs and meeting wonderful people out in Blogland. Many suggested I start my own blog because I always have a story to tell or an opinion to share. I wanted to start a blog as a place to journal my families stories and events and connect with other parents.

What are some of your favorite blogs?
The very first blog I ever followed was Life Starring The Kids & Me, Victoria's two daughter's Ellie and Eve are about the same ages as my two daughters. That is what pulled me in and now I am stuck, of course in a good way! Your blog is one of my favorites, you got me following with your fantastic Tech Tuesday posts. Now, some of my other favorites, in no particular order: A Psych Mommy, Chefdruck Musings, Dore's Diaries, Eighty MPH Mom, Fairy Blog Mother, Go Graham Go, Two of A Kind, Working on a Full House, and Why Bother?

What is one of your pet peeves about blogs or bloggers?
I am too new at all of this to have any major pet peeves. Although, I am with most people, but obviously not everyone, I do not like when blogs have background music. Most of the time, it catches me off guard and scares the beegeezes out of me!

I know there can be a lot of drama out there, but so far I have stayed out of it and plan to keep it that way. Some people love drama and if that is what keeps them going and makes them happy, so be it.

What advice would you have for any new bloggers?
Blog about what you want to blog about, not what you think others want to read about. It is your blog so stay true to yourself. Other than that, since I am new to blogging, I am open to any and all suggestions or advice anyone has for me.

What is something that people might not know about you?
I may love girlie things, such as a nice pair of heels or a fantastic handbag, but deep down inside, I am a tomboy. I love riding dirt bikes and have been doing so since I was 7 years old. I am a self-acclaimed adrenaline junkie and have the need for speed! I cannot wait to get my girlies on dirt bikes of their own, hopefully one day they will be leaving the boys in their dust!
