CARES Aviation Restraint {Review}

One of the most helpful devices that we used on our trip to Florida was the CARES Aviation Restraint, which is essentially a seat belt for children to be used on an airplane. It can be used on kids 22-44 lbs.
It still boggles my mind that airlines don't have some sort of seat belt for kids, especially for how easy it was for my son to buckle and unbuckle the regular seat belt (in fact, he had fun doing that).

The only FAA Approved harness-type child restraint, the CARES Aviation Restraint easily attaches to the airplane belt buckle and then goes over the back of the seat to provide additional straps over the child's torso. It was really simple to install, and took maybe 2 minutes to do it.
It was so much simpler than lugging a car seat on board, since the belt fits right inside my carry-on and includes its own bag. The CARES Restraint made traveling much easier for myself and my family.
Disclosure: I received a CARES Aviation Restraint for review purposes.

  3. *sigh*...since i no longer work for the airlines I have no idea when my next trip will be with the boys, but I would definitely use the CARES Aviation Restraint. We used a car seat once on the plane and it was such a hassle...

  5. I have often thought it so strange that kids don't have to be in something like that. It's a freaking airplane!! That looks great, and the model is pretty darn cute.
