Natural Kids Vitamins from Nordic Naturals {Giveaway}

One morning, as I was sitting at breakfast, I happened to read the label of my son's vitamins and was shocked at how many artificial dyes were in them.  I never understand why companies need to dye food with things like Blue #1 and Red #40, especially when colorings can often be done with vegetables or just omitted all together.

At that moment, I decided to seek out a natural alternative to Pebbles and Bam Bam, and promptly came upon Nordic Naturals, a company whose items I was familiar with. I've heard great things about them, especially their fish oils, which is from 100% pure cod liver oil (the only one on the market!) and of the highest quality.
The Nordic Naturals website is packed with tons of info on the responsible nature of their company, if you're inclined to find out more.

With vitamins and supplements ranging from kids to adults to pets even, Nordic Naturals covers everyone in your family.  We tried out their Nordic Berries chewable multivitamins for kids, as well as the DHA supplements, and are thoroughly impressed.
The Nordic Berries are sweet and sour, but even better is that there are no artificial dyes or flavors.
  • Chewable, pectin-based, multivitamin for ages 2+
  • Provides 100% of the daily value of the most essential nutrients—including zinc and vitamins A, B, C, D3, and E
  • No artificial coloring, flavorings, or preservatives
  • Gelatin FREE, Allergen FREE
My son actually requests his vitamin each day, which helps me from having to remember to give it to him!  My only qualm would be that he needs to take 4 gummies a day to get the recommended dosage; as a lazy parent, I'd much prefer giving him one vitamin in the morning rather than spacing them throughout the day.  Though I assume I could give him all 4 at once too.

I also received the Children's DHA capsules, which supports brain and visual function in children, and which are also a pleasure for Soren to eat.
The strawberry flavor is a treat for him, and I like knowing that he's getting the DHA that is often lacking in kids' diets, especially that he dislikes eating fish.

I also tried a few sample packs of the Prenatal DHA supplements, and though I can't make any claims about them, I am glad to know that my growing baby is receiving DHA in utero, which is hopefully helping his/her brain and immune system development.  Plus, no fishy taste for mama!
I really don't see myself going back to the old vitamins, knowing what I do about Nordic Naturals.  Even though they're a little more pricey, I definitely think in the long run that the investment will pay off in my son's health.
WIN IT!

  1. The Children's DHA is my favorite product. Both of my kids take it daily with no problems. We had tried regular fish oil before & they hated it. I think these are fun for them to take (they call them the ball vitamins) & they taste good.

  15. I learned that they have award winning fish oil. These are the vitamins that we use with our daughters. The LOVE the Nordic Berries. It is scary to see all the stuff that is added into some of the other vitamins.

  67. We believe in supplements and these would be great to try for the grandchildren. And I love this:Surpasses International Pharmaceutical Standards
Standards are set to protect consumers
Governmental fish oil quality standards do not exist in the United States. To ensure consistent quality, Nordic Naturals adheres to and exceeds the stringent Norwegian Medicinal Standard (NMS) and the European Pharmacopoeia Standard (EPS) as well as the voluntary standards set by the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) and the Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3 (GOED) for all of our products. These standards guarantee quality products by setting maximum allowances on peroxides, heavy metals, dioxins, and PCBs.
