With two boys who seem to grow out of clothing in a blink, I hate to spend tons of money on clothing that will be worn just a few times. Admittedly, I'd probably think differently if I had girls (oh, those frilly, expensive, utterly-adorable dresses), but I am glad that I have boys and that I discovered thredUP.
thredUP is like a virtual consignment shop filled with name brand items in great condition. Brands like GAP, Ralph Lauren, Mini Boden and Gymboree are stocked at up to 75% off original prices, and they come clean and nicely packaged in a box, delivered right to your front door.
I was able to get a variety of clothes for a little over 20 bucks, including 4 shirts for Soren (OshKosh, Hanna Andersson, Tony Hawk and Old Navy) as well as a striped t-shirt (baby Gap, see below) and one-piece romper for Jude (Crazy8s).
It was a great deal for around $20, and even better that I could shop at home rather than endure the nightmare of taking my kids to the consignment shop. And with back-to-school shopping in full swing, thredUP is definitely a place you should shop from the comfort of your own computer.
I like that thredUP not only sells clothes but buys them from you too with their "Clean Out" option. While I've yet to sell back some of our things, I'm eager to try it. They make it simple for you to do so, even sending you bags to fill and will pay you either via PayPal or with store credit.
I'm really pleased with the purchase, and look forward to getting a few more items for next season.
