Back to School With Kohl's: The Shopping Trip

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Kohl’s. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
I posted a week ago about the start of my back-to-school shopping for my kindergartener at Kohl's, and I'm back to recap the experience.
As I mentioned in my earlier post, the majority of my family's clothing purchases come from Kohl's.  The quality and prices of their products can't be beat, and the sales they run throughout the year (including their coupons that arrive in the mail, and their Kohl's Cash program) make shopping at Kohl's economical.

Shopping at Kohl's is a pleasant experience too, in that the stores are clean, mostly organized (those clearance racks are often a mess, thanks to lazy shoppers, not the employees' efforts) and are well laid-out.
Kohl's also has a good mix of name brand and store brand items.  I had no problems finding school clothes for Soren, including brands like Osh Kosh, Carter's, Lego (of course!) and Chaps.
Their clothes are always stylish and on-trend, even the store brands, which sometimes miss the mark at other retailers.  I bought some of Kohl's "Jumping Beans" clothing items, as well as clothes from their Sonoma collection.  For $100, I picked up:
  • 3 pairs of boys pants
  • 4 t-shirts
  • 4 long sleeve t-shirts
  • 1 pair boys shorts
  • 1 Essie nail polish, for me
  • 1 Chaps dress, for me (on clearance, $18)
Because these purchases totaled $100, so I was able to earn $20 in Kohl's cash (essentially like a $20 gift certificate. You earn $10 for every $50 you spend) so I ended up going back and picking up a pair of Carter's boys' jeans and two sets of Star Wars Lego pajamas for Soren.
Soren was excited for all these new clothes, and hasn't been able to wait until school starts to wear them.  I'm glad that I was able to most of my school shopping done in one place, and though I didn't pick up shoes for him at Kohl's, I intend to once he outgrows current sneakers (which I had bought at Kohl's this spring).

I know we'll continue to shop at Kohl's in the future, not just for clothing but for household items, accessories, and gifts.  It's a great place for one-stop shopping.

You can keep up with Kohl's deals via the Kohl's Facebook page as well as on their website.
