Fortunately there are a lot of companies out there who are dedicated to creating foods that use simple, "real" ingredients. Though I've been lazy about making my own granola, I was sent some samples of Nature's Hand Granola to try out. And when I say samples, I was shocked that they sent 6 huge 16oz. bags for us to sample.
At $4.99 a bag, Nature's Hand Granola is not a budget breaker, and it's as close to homemade as I've tasted. I was happily surprised to learn that they've been making and selling granola since 1971.
Out of the 6 types we were sent (Original Vanilla Almond, Wild Blueberry, Cinnamon Apple, Raisin Hazelnut, Maple Pecan and Cranberry Apricot).
I'd say our favorites were the Cinnamon Apple, which had nice dried apple slices in it, and the Wild Blueberry. I would have like to have tried the Coconut Cashew, since I love the combo of those flavors, but I'll just have to order some of that in the future. The flavors of all the varieties were very good, not too sweet, yet satisfying, but those three really stood out.
I will definitely be buying more of Nature's Hand Granola, probably online, since they're mostly sold in the upper Mid-West at the moment.
Nature's Hand Granola wants one lucky K&K reader to try their scrumptious granola, so they're kindly offering...
A Sample Package of Granola!
(I'm guessing it will be similar to what I reviewed)

The Cranberry Apricot sounds fabulous, but I think I would love the Coconut Cashew, too!!! My husband, however, would go straight for the Original!

I have my mouth watering for the Cranberry*Apricot. I often eat both of those dried throughout the day for energy, so I'm delighted to see the combo in granola.

Oh...and my husband would absolutely love the blueberry one, he's wild about anything blueberry. I think my fave to try would probably be the coconut one :)
I think the original would be good for putting on top of baked pear or apple cobbler. A more "breakfast" flavor rather than desert.

Wild Blueberry - anything with blueberry in it is a winner in my book :)
I enjoy granola on top of ice cream! Though I recently put some into some homemade granola bars. Maybe you could make some "granola macaroons" with them (using granola instead of coconut)? Hmm that sounds pretty good :)
I bet it would taste great sprinkled on top of some kind of sauteed or roasted veggies too: asparagus, broccoli, green/string beans :)

It's a toss-up which I'd like most - Vanilla Almond or Maple Pecan. I like to mix granola with dried fruit, like pineapples and cran-raisins, to make a trail mix. You can add it in to bread, as well, to add fiber and flavor.
The Wild Blueberry flavor sounds very tasty!
