Infantino's Right Angle Tummy Triangle

As a test-drive mom for Infantino, a brand that I know quite well from my older son's infancy, we have been trying out the new Right Angle Tummy Triangle, a product developed in collaboration with Pediatric Occupational Therapists that promotes that often-dreaded tummy time for infants.

Many infants I know, including my firstborn, hate tummy time.  However it's really important for them to spend some time in that position, as it strengthens their neck muscles and prepares them for crawling.  And with babies being put to sleep on their back for SIDS prevention, they're often not getting enough tummy time, according to my pediatrician.

Jude enjoys tummy time, at least for a few minutes at a time.  He likes the Right Angle Tummy Triangle, especially since it lifts him up a bit off the floor.  I think it's more comfortable for him, both the angled position and padded incline, as he's propped up more and not so flat on his belly.
At 7 weeks old, he's not yet interested in the toys on the soft bar, however as he grows I'm sure that will change.
It also gives him the perfect position for one of his favorite activities--chewing his hand.

I like that this product can grow with your infant, at least to the crawling stage when they're no longer interested in staying still!
The soft toy bar is able to be angled in different ways, as well as be removed entirely.  And the Tummy Triangle doesn't take up much space; in fact we have it stashed between the wall and our downstairs dresser.

Infantino's Right Angle Tummy Triangle also has a musical timer inside (with 1, 5, and 10 minute buttons), which is great for keeping track of how long your baby is practicing tummy time while keeping him/her engaged.
Overall, I think this is a unique and helpful product, and would be a welcome addition to a household with an infant (hint hint, a great baby shower gift).  You can keep up with Infantino via their Facebook, Twitter, and You Tube pages.  Check out their video of the Right Angle Tummy Triangle in action below.

Currently, the Right Angle Tummy Triangle is available for purchase at Babies 'R' Us both online and in stores and for preorder at Amazon.com.
Disclosure: I am a participant in a Mom Central Consulting campaign for Infantino and have received various Infantino products as part of my participation.

How cool is that!?! I'm too old for a new baby but if my daughter and son-in-law ever have a baby, that would be a great gift!
