Time Saving Tips from Bank of America {Giveaway}

One of our credit cards is though Bank of America, and I must say that we've been pleased with their services--particularly their fraud prevention initiatives.  We've had our card number stolen on 2 occasions, and both times Bank of America made it extremely simple and hassle-free to have the fraudulent charges canceled.

That being said, I was eager to share some of their time saving tips for this holiday season.
Bank of America has come up with a few ideas to help us get back some time this holiday to spend with our family and friends, all while keeping us on track with our daily routines.

1.  Receive instant account balance alerts: Don't worry about making an extra stop to the bank during all of your holiday shopping.  Keep track of your spending by using Bank of America's Online and Mobile Banking and receive instant alerts if your balance is running low. (online banking was what alerted us immediately to our stolen credit card number).

2.  Babysitting or playdate exchange: Gain kid-free time to make your way through your holiday to-do list by coordinating a playdate exchange with another family.  (I LOVE this idea).

3.  Find a holiday helper: Save time and relieve stress by finding a holiday helper to assist with household chores and last-minute errands.  Don't hesitate to ask your normal sitter, cleaning person or a neighborhood college student who is home for the holiday stretch.  And don't be afraid to delegate household chores to your own children home for winter break!

4.  No more backtracking!: A lesser-known "route planner" feature on MapQuest helps you save both time and money by mapping out an entire journey - with multiple stops - all in one convenient step.  You can add up to 25 destinations along any route, and the tool gives you the fastest route.

These are great tips, and can certainly help free up some of your precious time.

WIN IT!

Freezer cooking!! I only cook once a week -- love it!!! And printable grocery lists. I can post one on the fridge and EVEN my husband has learned to check something when we run out. Plus the one I have is broken down by categories so I dont have to scan a whole list each aisle I go in.

My time-saving tip is to use a calender and schedule things that must be done. I use an online calender that emails me when I need to do something. It's great ... once I schedule things like paying bills, running chores, etc., I can forget it ... it all gets done, I'm not stressed and I seem to have more time!

My biggest time saving tip for the Holidays is to make a list of what you want to get for each person before you go shopping. I actually keep a running list throughout the year. If I see something cool I think someone would like, I make a note of it and when the holidays roll around I don't have to think twice about what to get everyone.

For Christmas, designate one full day for wrapping presents. Then you don't waste time trying to drag out all of the wrapping supplies and putting them away every time you get a new thing to wrap. Plus, once you get into the wrapping groove, it's easier to just keep going! ;)

I think my best tip as a business woman is to get a File It Calendar (each page is a file folder) and put all my business receipts, money order stubs, gas/car receipts, etc in that months folder, add up my expenses and write it on the front. Tear off the monthly page and stick it in my file.

http://www.calendars.com/Country-Gardens/Botanical-Garden-File-It-2011-Pocket-Wall-Calendar/prod201100007145/?categoryId=cat00102

At tax time, all I have to do is add up the totals and plug them into my tax software.

I do my shopping online - heck I even order my groceries online now, and pick them up on my way home! Not only do I save time in driving to the store, parking, shopping, etc. I also avoid spending extra money on those impulse buys, plus most stores offer free shipping so that saves me additional time and money sending gifts to out-of-town friends and family.

We save for the holidays all year long. We put back $40 a week all year so that we have plenty on money when it come to Christmas shopping and we're not stressing about where the money is going to come from. Plus, it's an incentive to be frugal b/c whatever doesn't get spent, goes back into the bank account. Thanks for the chance!

I wrap each child's gifts in their own individual paper. Santa then leaves them a note telling them Nick's gifts are in the red Santa paper, Isabel's are in the green Snowman paper, etc. The paper makes it super easy for the kids to know which gifts are there on Christmas morning. I also keep ribbons and bows to a minimum - no scissors needed during the chaos of Christmas morning!
